A few Fridays ago....

So, my cousin was married in the Salt Lake Temple on August 24th.  Matt took the day off and we drove up to spend time in Salt Lake City.  Julie watched Maddie while we were in the temple, along with my brother's kids, Hadley and Zach.  Afterwards, Matt and I walked all over Salt Lake.  We saw the new mall, visited the Clark Planetarium, and even stopped by the Church History Museum before heading home.  Maddie was amazing and had a lot of fun, especially running around the Planetarium and the kids section of the Museum.  Oh!  And I'll mention that this was only the second time Maddie has let me do her hair!  Sooooo cute!

As we were waiting to take pictures, all of us were admiring the amazing work on the temple --the curves, symmetry, etc.  It is an amazing monument to the Saints' abilities!

Maddie and Daddy both loved this part!  Madison would even get a little upset if Matt hogged all the light.

At the church history museum, they have a section for kids.  It's very hands-on.  This was Maddie's favorite exhibit.  It's a garden, and you can plant and harvest vegetables.  Madison literally 'picked' vegetables for 15 minutes.  After a while, she started handing them to me and when I got a big pile on my lap, I'd throw them to Matt so he could replant them.

Their featured kids' exhibit was focused on Mexico.  They had these screens --one with a boy, one a girl -- and they would do some dances and you could copy them.  There was a mirror so you could see what you looked like.  Matt loved this part and we danced several times before we decided it was time to head home.

Close of the day: what would your hair look like if you had it in pig tails all day?  :)
