I know... I haven't posted in a long time! This summer has been awesome, and later I'll work on a post to tell you why.
But for now....
This morning:
Maddie wanted to go outside about 9, so I took her. Monica and Missy
were out with their kid. It was fun! Maddie likes Caleb because he is
smaller and not so grabby. I pushed her around in the red car, and she
got out and walked all around, looking at the other kids. She didn't
get too close, though. I think she could sense Clara was tired and a
little possessive. But later, Clara helped me push Maddie around in
the car again.
Then, they all went inside and Maddie and I stayed out for a little
while longer. She played with little toy cars, pulling them out and
putting them into a box. She said "close" for the first time.
I asked Madison if she wanted to go inside. She nodded and said yes. Then she climbed the stairs into the house.
I asked if she wanted her milk. She smiled and said yes.
We relaxed and she drank her milk for about 5-10 min. Then she got a
book and curled into my lap and snuggled, not opening the book.
So, I asked if she wanted to get her monkey (which is the first thing we
do when getting ready for a nap or bed). She gave me a huge grin and
nodded and said yes.
We went in, and got her monkey. Then she pointed at the blinds for me
to close them. I turned on the noise-maker and she snuggled right into
my shoulder.
I started to sing her a song, and she got grumpy. So I switched to
"Dearest Children" and she listened for a second, then became grumpy. I
sang "How we love our little Maddie" (which is the last song we always
sing to her before putting her down) and she quieted right down. She didn't make a sound as I left.
Very cute and fun! And the weather was perfect with a little breeze that smelled good. Mmmm. Fun morning!
