Hair Cut!
Maddie had her first hair cut two days ago! Mostly, it was to get the few random long ones that would stick straight up, and get her bangs out of her eyes. I can't believe I'm already cutting her hair at 8 1/2 months! New concept! (considering kids in my family didn't really get hair until they were about two)
Necessity is the mother of invention
So in our apartment, we have a small master bedroom closet. While Matt and I have managed to get our clothes in fine, there is no floor space for shoes. I have a hanging shoe organizer, so this wasn't a problem for me. However, Matt has had a hard time finding a place for his shoes to belong. As it turned out, he started putting them under the bed. At first, I was totally against it! (Something about being raised to not put/hide things under the bed). But, with no good alternative, I let it go...ish.... The biggest problem was that there really wasn't a place for the shoes to 'go' so they were everywhere under the bed and I often stubbed my toes. With my horrible need to organize everything, I finally came up with an solution! But with the fact that what I was looking for has not yet been invented, I created an under-the-bed shoe organizer for Matt from old shoe boxes we have around the house! Now we know exactly where his shoes are so he can find them easy in the morning! Hooray!!
(...and, knowing myself, this will work...with the understanding there may be modifications in the future)

Teeth!!
Well, it's finally official! Maddie has teeth! As discovered when she bit the spoon at Chuck-a-Rama, later confirmed while getting in her pajamas! This is probably why she has been so much happier the last 18 hours!

BYU Basketball game!
We went to a BYU Basketball Game (Senior's night 2012) a couple of weeks ago for Matt's Birthday. It was a lot of fun, though Maddie didn't take a very good nap beforehand and was a little grumpy (though I didn't blame her with how loud everything was). Forgot about noise level when planning!
During halftime, Jimmer Fredette showed up to put in a plug for fighting cancer. And for honoring the senior cheerleaders (one of which is his fiance).
It was a lot of fun!

Wiggle Dance!
This is Maddie's wiggle dance! She can get anyone to do it! It started with Matt being so cute and patient with her, encouraging her new movements and naming them "Wiggle Dance." In this video we have Gabe, Miranda, Mariah, Matt, and me all doing the Wiggle Dance!

Oh, Maddie!
So, for the last week, Maddie has been doing the cutest things! I've been so impressed with how she is developing!
Some of her amazing-ness includes:
learning to clap
trying to mimic Matt's elephant noise
almost waving "bye-bye"
various noises previously unheard
"wiggle dance" where she moves her shoulders and head back and forth
"clicks" her tongue
mimicking any high pitched noise she hears (especially the "ah!" that accompanies her pulling my hair or poking me in the eye)
finding eyes and noses on faces
Her bottom teeth are almost poking through! It is very exciting, although it has made her a little moody. It will be fun to see what she does with new objects in her mouth. :)
